5.2 Mapping channels

After setting the Master channels, you need to map the channels of the other datasets to the masters. You can do this automatically if channels have the same name. If not, you need to do the mapping manually.

Manual mapping

To manually map the channels to the Masters, complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the Channels icon to open the card.
  2. Select the dataset to map.
  3. Select the channel(s) to map in the left column.
  4. Drag and drop them to the corresponding Master channels on the right side.

If this step is performed correctly, the channels will turn green. Numbers will also appear in the Mapped to column.

You cannot map the channels of sequences. They inherit the channel mapping from their parent dataset.

Quick mapping

Mapping to the master channels directly

It is also possible to map channels directly to the Master channels if they have the same name.

To map channels to the Masters directly, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the dataset to map.
  2. Right-click and select Copy Channel Mapping From.
  3. Select Master Channels.

Mapping to other datasets

You can also copy the channel mapping from other datasets.

To copy the channel mapping from a dataset, complete the next steps:

  1. Select the dataset to map.
  2. right-click and select Copy Channel Mapping From.
  3. Select the correct category and the dataset.

Mapping channels from another dataset

When mapping to another dataset, it is possible to see between brackets how many channels of that dataset are mapped to the Master channels.
