6.1 Data module and importing files

The Data module allows you to import FRFs that have already been collected outside of DIRAC. The Data module is primarily used to get external data in the right format such that it can be evaluated in the Analyze module, Virtual-Point transformed and exported again for use as an experimental model.

Import campaign procedure

The file importer is initiated automatically when the data module is accessed. Otherwise, it can be accessed by clicking Open setup on the Settings card.

Supported data types

Currently, three import file types are supported:

  • DIRAC.
  • UFF/UNV.
  • ASAM-ODS (ATFX).
  • MATLAB MAT-files with a layout originating from DIRAC or VIBES Toolbox for MATLAB.

Import files

Files are imported by dragging the ATFX header file (*.atfx) or MAT-file into the importer. By default, the complete list of impact measurements will be imported. By right-clicking on the measurement names, measurements can be removed from the import using Delete or Delete All.

Map channels / excitations

Here the channels and excitations in the imported data are mapped to channels and excitations in your DIRAC project (defined in the Prepare module). Select the sensors/channels/excitations on the left and drag them onto the correct FRF channels on the right to define the mapping. Multiple channels and sensors can be mapped simultaneously, as long as care is taken to ensure the same ordering between the DIRAC channels and FRF data.

Mappings can be deleted by right-clicking within the sensors/channels/FRF channels and clicking Delete or Delete All.

In the following video, it is explained how to import files and map channels and excitations.
